"You're not likely to find anything else as red as. And you'll never find anything redder than." - Charley Harper
Mid-century modern meets Motawi mastery in these tiles based on the work of celebrated wildlife artist Charley Harper (1922-2007), a self-described "minimal realist." From the Harper print "Red and Fed" (1970).
- Motawi tiles are striking art pieces and installation accents. Each tile is made by hand and with heart in Ann Arbor, Michigan. We embrace variation and handmade beauty: Our time-honored methods produce a nuanced range of color with depth and translucence.
- Actual Tile Size: Approximately 3 7/8” x 3 7/8”. As each Motawi tile is crafted by hand, dimensions may vary slightly by up to 1/16".
- Tiles are 5/8" thick and have a notch at the back for hanging.
Easels are an elegant option for art tile display. Fabricated from powder-coated steel, our easels are locally made and feature durable single-piece construction.
- Medium easel: holds any unframed tile larger than 3 inches (recommended for most of our tiles if unframed).
- Large easel: holds any framed tile or any unframed tile larger than 4 inches.
- Small easel: holds 3 and 4-inch tiles (unframed).
Our quarter-sawn oak frames, handmade by Dard Hunter Studios, are available with a natural Oak or Ebony finish. They can hang horizontally or vertically, or perch on our large easels. Frame features include mitered corners and stapled joints.
- This frame’s outer dimensions are 7-1/2" x 7-1/2".
- Frame width is 2".
- Any framed tile can pair with our large easel.
- Note: Frame woodgrain and stain opacity varies.
